Every sport needs heroes and villains. The 1972-73 Philadelphia hockey team was both. They earned the nickname “Broad Street Bullies” for their rough play and record-breaking accumulation of penalty minutes. That no-holds-barred take-no-prisoners style of play paid off as the Bullies brought the Lord Stanley Cup home to Philly in back-to-back years.
