A fabulous garnet horseshoe bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This wonderful piece is crafted in 9kt rosy yellow gold and features an equestrian motif adorned with hand faceted garnets. The belly front style bangle displays a large horseshoe centerpiece which is lined in graduating garnets and accented by a riding crop which overlaps through the center. The vibrant red calibrated stones have rich, crimson color, their open back setting allowing then to glow in the light, and a single garnet bead accents the handle of the crop. The open split shoulders of the bracelet's band are detailed with ten additional prong set garnets, four of which are singularly set, the remaining six set within a trefoil design. Small seed pearls accent the design, three adorned on each shoulder. The bracelet is hinged and clasps on the side and a safety chain provides added security. All of the smoothly polished garnets are set in an open backed setting and remain in excellent condition, collectively exhibiting a vibrant,?luscious red color. The bracelet look beautiful worn alone or with other bangles and would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements:?The bracelet's width measures 1 1/8" tall at the front and 3/16" at the back. The inside opening (where your wrist would rest) measures approximately 2 1/8" wide and 1 7/8" tall.
Condition:?The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and all of the garnets and pearls are intact. The clasp and safety are secure and in good working condition.
